I have been practising yoga and holistic healing for the last 20 years and it has been the force that has kept me going through life's ups and downs.
I began practicing yoga at the recommendation of my acupuncturist who thought that it would be beneficial for my health. She was right and I got hooked. I have studied many different methods of yoga, all had their benefits but in 2002 I discovered the Iyengar method of yoga. Iyengar Yoga was a completely different way of practising than I had experienced before. It strenthens the body, purifies the mind and I felt a deep connection to it.
I became a beginner again and started for the first time to understand my external as well as my internal body. To become an Iyengar yoga teacher takes serious commitment. Before my teaching journey commenced I had to attend regular classes for 4 years in order to qualify for the teacher training course. Teacher training takes another 2 years of intense practise and indepth study of the anatomy of the body and the philosphy of Iyengar. I hold an Introductory Iyengar Yoga diploma certificate received on 10/10/2010 (click here to view) and an Intermediate Junior 1 certificate 28/2/2015 (click here to view).
I am on the IYA U K web-site under the list of Iyengar teachers and fully insured by the Association.
